Enjoy these 12 film shots I decided to film from the storyboard document.
1. Cameo Shot
While creating this quick little shot of my sister sneezing, I decided to place her in front of a dark background, hence the dark blanket. Before this, I had placed her in front of a blank TV screen, but that acted more as a mirror and you could see the whole room in the shot.
2. Close Up:
For the close up shot, I filmed from a side angle and through a mirror, as though it was for a makeup tutorial. I wanted to get as close as possible without it being an extreme close upshot. I had to be careful not to show the camera in the shot, which was surprisingly a lot easier than I thought.
3. Dolly Shot:
According to the document, it says the shot is moving "as if on a set of tracks." Now obviously, I don't have a track in my house, so I made one. I attached a chair to a skateboard and used that to push the camera for the shot. It wasn't easy and as you can still probably tell it's a little rough but i think it got the job done!
4. Extreme Close Up:
I chose to do my extreme close up shot with a glass of water being filled. I believe it's a good example to do because it not only can you see the ice, but also the fruit and water a a very close perspective, and an only see inside the cup.
5. Extreme Long Shot
Right next to my house is a lake with this bridge that I thought was perfect for this shot. The shot has the main focus point, the bridge and my sister running on it, as well as all the other background scenery included. I was able to keep the camera still because there was another bridge to rest it on.
6. Flash Shot
For the flash shot I did a really quick shot. If it were in a movie, I felt as though it would ft. i had my sister go under the bed for complete darkness and I used a makeup mirror with a light to flash it really quick.
7. Head On Shot
This shot took forever. My sister has no aim! I wanted the ping-pong ball to hit the camera screen but, this is going to have to do. It was hard getting a good angle.
8. High Angle Shot
To do this shot was scary. I was balancing on the top of my couch and it was really hard to keep the camera still. I fell multiple times, but it was worth it to get this shot! My sister is "doing homework" in this.
9. Point Of View Shot
If you were to have seen me filming this shot, you would have laughed. I looked crazy because I was on my hammock, but my sister was on top of me, so I could film from her eye level while she could "sip the water."
10. Reaction Shot
My two sisters helped with this shot. While I filmed one of them, I had the other make a loud bang off camera so she could react to it. It should sound as though someone fell or tripped and my sister is going to go aid them.
11. Pan Shot
I used my dog in this one, and I'm glad he complied. It was really hard to do a smooth transition from left to right while holding the camera, so I attached the camera to a turning a chair.
12. Tilt Shot
I was able to tilt the camera really smoothly considering that I was holding the camera. I like this shot because, if you were in the city or a public area, this shot is perfect to get a good look of the setting.

ReplyDeleteHere are some things I felt and noticed while watching your videos:
ReplyDelete1. The Close Up Shot- I really enjoyed this shot because of how close it was to the subject. The lighting from the mirror really highlighted the mascara and the eyelashes, and I almost felt like I was her as she put on the mascara. The lighting and the angle made this Close up Shot extremely effective.
2. Extreme Long Shot- I really liked this shot because of how peaceful it was. The water in the shot was so still, and with the only moving thing (your sister) being so far away, I really felt like I got a feel for the scenery. The shot was peaceful and enjoyable and I feel as if the bridge was the perfect way to really get a feel for the scenery.
3. Flash Shot- I also really enjoyed the flash shot. The flash shot was very quick and startling and was something that made the viewer really wonder about what was going on. If this were in a movie, I can clearly imagine how the shot could make the audience feel a sense of anxiety and confusion, as you only get a quick glimpse of what was happening. The use of the makeup mirror was really original and I really enjoyed how creative you were with this assignment.
4.Point of View Shot- Lastly, I think this was one of my favorite shots. In the point of view shot, the audience feels as if they are the character because they see the action from that character's perspective. In this case, I really felt like I was the person on the hammock sipping water. As the hammock rocked back and forth and her hand came towards her face, I could easily picture it as my own hand holding the cup and almost felt like I was actually on the hammock. Also, after reading the description, I enjoyed the shot even more, because you can't tell at all in the shot just how difficult it was for you to show it from the main character's perspective.
