For this assignment, I chose to comment on Kenneth's and Juan's 12 shots.
For Kenneth, I chose his follow, low angle, point of view, and close up shots. While watching his follow shot, it evoked the feeling of excitement and suspense. I say this because in the shot, Kenneth jumps over his friend, which is very exciting, but also nerve-racking, to see if he makes the jump or not. For his next shot I chose, the low angle shot, I felt as though the feelings of power and greatness came off of it. Kenneth and Colleen stood over the the camera, causing me to feel as though they were very powerful and it made them taller than normal, seeming as though they were in charge. His next shot, the close up shot, evoked the feeling of connection. This is because with Colleen, whose hand can be closely seen grabbing the phone, it feels as though you are with her in the scene as well. Lastly, the point-of-view shot, and my most favorite one, made me feel like I was him. In the shot, something is on the camera lens that looked like eyelashes and really made you feel as though you were the one looking out.
For Juan, I chose his eye level, panoramic, establishing, and dolly shots. As I watched the first shot, the eye level shot, I felt a connection. This is because I felt as though I was in the class, watching the teacher from my seat. It made me feel like I, the viewer, was part of the shot. In his second shot I chose, the panoramic shot, it made me feel happy and calm. He choose to do a panoramic of the sun rising over the Lely athletic fields and it was just so beautiful. The way he slowly moved the shot back and fourth evoked such beauty. His third shot, the establishing shot, evoked suspense. I wanted to know what was going to happen next. The shot was set so well that I was left wondering what could happen. it established the scene very well. For his last shot, the dolly shot, I felt excitement. I felt as though I was there, walking through the building. It was very smooth which added to making it seem more real.
